I often meet women dealing with hair loss while working behind the chair but when it started happening to me, it became that much more real. After having my son, my postpartum alopecia was heart breaking. To add insult to injury, I have hypothyroidism & anemia which both come with their own set of hair loss issues. I decided to take a plant based approach to my problem since I believe food truly has healing powers. I came up with a vegan smoothie I drink either as my breakfast or before dinner to fill be up which helps curb overeating, even my husband and son love it! I encourage you to try different combinations and portions until you find what tastes best to you.

Serving Size: 2.5 Cups

Water, 1/2 C - Adds volume and of course extra water is always good for anyone

Orange Juice, 1 C - without added vitamin D which inhibits iron absorption

Ginger, 1 small piece - anti-inflammatory which helps fight cancer

Hemp Seed, 3 tbsp - 10g added protein which helps hair growth

Cashews, 1/8 C - added fat for satiation and creaminess

Walnuts, 1/8 C - added iron for hair growth

Greens, 2 handfuls (I prefer spinach) - for added iron

Berries, 1/2 C (I prefer blueberries) - a low in fat antioxidant which helps fight aging & cancer

Flax Seed, 1 tbsp - Omega-3 essential fatty acids, which are good fats that have been shown to have heart-healthy effects

Coconut Oil, 1 tbsp - anti fungal, antibacterial & antiviral to help boost immunity

Blackstrap Molasses, 1 tbsp - adds sweetness & packed with iron, calcium, magnesium, vitamin B6, & selenium

Matcha Powder, 1 tsp - cancer fighting properties
